10.30 Registration - Tea & Coffee
11:00 AGM of the Consultancy Group
11.30 Trace analysis - from environmental to evidential, do we really need to detect everything?
Dr Jason W. Birkett, CChem FRSC, Liverpool John Moores University
Dr. Birkett is an analytical chemist with 30 years’ academic experience involving the research and teaching of analytical chemistry, environmental chemistry and forensic chemistry within the University sector. During that time, he has been involved in the analysis of a range of materials from environmental matrices, including sediments and wastewaters, to ballistic evidence and drug analysis, both for forensic and public health purposes. His presentation will cover selected studies, including some of his recent work at Liverpool John Moores University, exploring (and sometimes solving!) the analytical challenges encountered.
12.30 Lunch and Networking
14.00 Chemistry as the driving force to unleash the potential of digital printing, an additive
manufacturing technology.
Dr Olivier Morel, Senior R&D Manager, Ink Technology Innovation
Domino Printing Services Ltd
Digital printing has revolutionised the landscape of manufacturing and design, offering unprecedented flexibility and efficiency across various industries. This presentation delves into the pivotal role that chemistry plays in the advancements and implementation of digital printing technologies.
As industries strive to meet evolving consumer demands for personalisation and eco-friendly solutions, integrating chemical expertise in digital printing processes becomes increasingly crucial. By exploring the core components of inkjet inks, we will examine how chemistry impacts drop and dot formation and, in turn, transform the digital printing processes to shape a more sustainable and innovative future.
15:00 Closing Remarks and Networking
16:00 Closed meeting of the Consultancy Group Committee
Please register with the Consultancy Group Hon Sec
Dr Hooshang Zavareh
