The Practical Essentials of Sample Preparation course combines the 8 individual sample preparation modules covering Derivatisation, Solid-Phase Extraction (SPE), Liquid-Liquid Extraction (LLE), Headspace, Solid-Phase Micro-Extraction (SPME), Thermal Desorption (TD), Pyrolysis (Py) and Purge-and-Trap (P&T).
These courses will teach you the theory for each sample preparation technique and the knowledge of how to create methods, analyse samples and the parameters that can be optimised for each technique.
Learning outcomes
- You will learn about how to use eight independent sample preparation techniques for GC-MS and LC-MS in great detail
- You will learn the fundamental theory of Liquid-Liquid Extraction (LLE), Derivatisation, Solid-Phase Extraction (SPE), Solid-Phase Micro-Extraction (SPME), Headspace (HS), Purge-and-Trap (P&T), Thermal Desorption (TD) and Pyrolysis (Py)

Prerequisites
If you have reasonable gas chromatography experience but want further hands-on training on a new sampling technique, then this is the course is for you. Delegates should have good knowledge of GC or GC-MS or LC or LC-MS or have attended the Practical Essentials of GC & GC-MS or the Hands-on GC & GC-MS courses or the Practical Essentials of LC & LC-MS or the Hands-on LC & LC-MS courses.
